Our 4s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. Students are provided engaging activities with a hands-on approach through curriculum that encourages "out of the box" thinking. Inquiry-based projects and Biblical concepts are integrated to inspire a deeper understanding of God’s world. Children will learn through two faith-based Christian curriculums, Abeka and Horizons. Handwriting Without Tears is used to teach correct formations while enhancing writing skills.

• Social Studies focuses on class citizenship, economics, and global awareness
• Science/STEAM includes scientific investigations, learning about life patterns, and building and constructing
• Math includes identifying complex shapes, ordinal positions, weight, and classification
• Reading focuses on concepts of print, letter recognition, sentence structure, and comprehension
• Language Arts increases vocabulary through poems, songs, and dramatic arts
• Biblical concepts continue to develop an awareness of God's world and stewardship

The Junior Kindergarten program helps to build foundational skills, help with independence and work on social-emotional readiness in preparation for kindergarten. This program is ideal for children with late-summer birthdays or those needing an extra year to develop social and academic stamina. The program will follow the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL's) but at a slower pace than Kindergarten.

• Smaller class size allows teachers to provide tailored learning experiences unique to each child
• The curriculum is play-based, hands-on, learning concepts like early literacy, math, science, phonics and sensory exploration.

• Class size - Maximum of 12 students with 2 teachers

• 5 days a week, 9am to 1pm (Monday - Friday)

Kindergarten focuses on Kindergarten goals following the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs) to prepare them for First Grade. Curriculum is structured with direct instruction in core subjects (phonics, handwriting, math, science, and social studies). They can expect longer days with higher expectations. Class is more academic and less play-focused.

3. The classroom is set up to allow independent exploration and play: science, writing, math, books, etc.
4. Lessons are tailored to meet the student’s needs while encouraging their academic, social, and emotional growth
5. Monthly Bible stories and activities with monthly character traits
6. Handwriting Without Tears writing curriculum is taught to enhance writing skills.
7. Private Kindergarten ensures that each child receives a strong educational foundation to build a future of academic success.
8. Class Size - Maximum of 12 students with 2 teachers

The After School Enrichment Program is open to students currently attending Gateway Village Children's Center. The program extends the school day until 3:00pm Monday through Thursday. This program consists of play time and arts and crafts.

Schedule Options:

• 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday)
• 3 days a week (Monday - Wednesday)
• 2 day a week (Monday - Tuesday)
